Reading Cricket Club wishes to provide a competitive environment for all levels of cricketers to play cricket in Berkshire. With this in mind, the following policy is adopted during selection:

• The Men’s selection meeting is chaired by the Club Captain with all Men’s Team Captains present (or their nominated deputies)
• Men's selection meeting is chaired by 1stX1 team Manager, Men's selection with be Thursday evening, details of the teams will be available on the website Thursday evening.
• Ladies and Colts teams are chosen separately and players will be notified of their selection by either the captain or the Team Managers.
• All teams are chosen solely by the Team Captains (or their nominated deputies) or Colts Team Managers
• From 31st May each year, all teams will only be chosen from a pool of club members who have paid their subscriptions in full, or have reached an agreement with the club to honour the full payment of their subscription.
• All teams are chosen based upon each players talent, their past performances for the club and where possible, developing young players to play cricket at the highest level.
• Full paying adult members if available for selection will be given preference at selection
